Brake Fluid Flush Service
Did you know that you should regularly flush your brake fluid? Most people forget about this fluid which is what makes our vehicles stop. New brake fluid is a crystal clear and clean when is comes out of a sealed container. If you were to remove the brake master cylinder fill cap on 10 vehicles, 8 out of 10 would fail a brake fluid strip test. The brake fluid will appear black and nasty with floating particles. This is because brake fluid is hygroscopic. That means it loves to absorb water like a sponge. As the brake pads wear on a vehicle, the fluid level lowers and air is induced into the reservoir to replace the missing fluid. It grabs the water molecules from the air and two bad things happen. First is that it causes the boiling point of the fluid to go down reducing braking performance, and second, the moisture causes the brake fluid to become corrosive and can damage brake system parts, very expensive brake system parts.
